AUTOMAT is proud to present Between Us, a solo show by Claes Gabriel curated by Lou Serna.

Inspired by a line of poetry, the Haitian Revolution, xenophobia and police brutality in the current day U.S., Between Us offers a deep look at some of Claes Gabriel’s most controversial work. Balancing intimacy and objectivity, Gabriel’s paintings are both subject and object, a gesture toward the future and a challenge to the present.
