Over the course of Summer 2020–while we cannot safely host large gatherings of people at AUTOMAT–we developed creative ways to use the gallery that allow artists to continue showing their work. Through the MFA Series, we are focused on giving those who would have had an MFA Thesis show in Spring 2020 an opportunity to hang and photograph their thesis work in the AUTOMAT space. While not a traditional show, we wanted to provide 2020 MFA grads a more professional space to hang and photograph this body of work, to disperse and share digitally.
