The Third Body is a two-part show emphasizing process and re-making, featuring four artists: Nicki Cherry, Jessica Fuquay, Rachel Hsu, and Aaron Storm. In the first iteration, on view April 2022, the show centered on the idea of the utterance. This second iteration, on view October 2022, takes on the theme of enduring.

The Third Body explores how we author some of the most interior experiences we have as beings-in-bodies – the ways in which we may convey experiences of pain, decay, difference, grief, tenderness, and care. In these expressions and recollections, the artists of The Third Body: Enduring plumb the formal possibilities of language, memory, material remnants, and performance. Their work invokes the staying power of touch, of tending to bodies in pain and asking what is needed in their maintenance and transformation.
