Aluise transforms past sites of intended intimacy and rest into color field picture planes that work to alter perceptions of place and personal narrative. IN BED examines ideas of comfort, unrest, and the amorphous nature of identity by allowing memory to move between becoming detritus, art object, environment, and experience.
Terri Aluise was born in Wanaque, New Jersey in 1979. Aluise completed a BFA with distinction at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in 2014. She has had solo shows at the Philadelphia International Airport and the Philadelphia Sculpture Gym, as well as multiple group shows throughout the city including FiberPhiladelphia and Artist House Gallery. She lives and works in Philadelphia, PA.
